Battlefords RCMP seize gun, drugs during traffic stop

The Battlefords RCMP say they’ve seized a gun and several drugs after a traffic stop in the City.

On March 19, 2021, Battlefords RCMP officers stopped a car at the intersection of Territorial and Hwy #4. During a resulting search, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal meth and illegal cannabis were found in the car. They also allegedly found a loaded assault rifle inside the car.

Due to this search, a 33-year-old woman from North Battleford has been taken into custody. Robin Moccasin is facing several charges, including:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
  • Possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm.
  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
  • Possession of a weapon/ammunition in a vehicle.
  • Possession of a restricted weapon without a licence.
  • Tampering with a serial number on a firearm.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Another woman in the vehicle was also arrested, but her name has not been released and she has yet to be charged currently. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are pending.
