Man charged for police vehicle vandalism

Vegreville RCMP has made an arrest following an investigation into several incidents of vandalism to police cruisers.

On Sunday, January 10th, two police vehicles belonging to the Vegreville RCMP Detachment had their tires slashed by an unknown suspect, rendering the vehicles inoperable. Two more police vehicles were found with their tires slashes, one belonging to the Two Hills RCMP Detachment, by Friday, January 15th.

A suspect was identified and arrested on Satursday, January 16th;  35-year-old, Jason Larry Kotowich has been charged with 3 counts of mischief under $5,000, as well as resisting arrest, and several counts for breaching a probation order.

Kotowich remains in custody as he was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court Monday, February 1st, 2016.
