Leisure Centre hosts successful winter pool party

The Lloydminster Leisure Centre has hosted a very successful winter pool party.

Swimming and Snowflakes was the Centre’s first pool party of the year and it took place on Saturday, January 23rd. It was aimed towards families with younger children, for a family fun activity, keeping kids active and peoples’ minds off the cold. The event was also no additional cost to general admission.

Recreation Programmer, April McCloud, said that the event went really well. She had a difficult time pinpointing the best part of the event. She says, “There was a couple things that really stood out. The DJ and his music and light show was amazing. At one point everyone broke out singing, ‘Let It Go,’ when he played it so that was really special,” she laughs.

“We also had a foam machine and that kept the kids smiling and laughing all night long.”

McCloud also thanked everyone for coming out and said the Centre foresees doing more similar events in the future, changing the theme for different seasons, potentially targeting different age groups, like an evening event for teens, or teaming with local groups for charitable and fundraising events.
