Lloydminster Drive-Thru vaccine clinic to be open Sunday

A location and times have been set for people to get a drive thru COVID vaccination here in Lloydminster.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says the clinic will be open from April 4th to 7th at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds. Hours will be 9AM to 4PM, except the Holiday Monday, when it will be closed.

The clinic will be first come first serve, open to those 55 and older only, and will be distributing the AstraZeneca vaccine.

It was previously announced these clinics could open ahead of schedule as Saskatchewan was being sent 55,000 doses of AstraZeneca by the 7th of April, coming from United States.

The SHA asks that only those eligible show up, to minimize waits and keep the flow of people smooth. If someone chooses to get vaccines this way, and have already booked an appointment prior, they’re asked to cancel it online, which they can do even if they booked it over the phone.

The SHA also reminds people to continue following health guidelines such as physical distancing, hand washing and masking up in public until everyone’s had their chance to get vaccinated.
