Charges laid in Moosomin First Nation murder

“What began as a missing person investigation has progressed to charges of murder and accessory after the fact.”

That’s the word from the team at the RCMP Major Crime/Historical Case Unit South.

Following nearly a year of investigations charges have been laid in relation to the death of 20 year old Damian Moosomin of North Battleford.

Charged with one count of first degree murder is 24 year old Tye Partridge from Moosomin First Nation.

32 year old, Jannay Blackbird of Saulteaux First Nation is charged with one count of second degree murder.

23 year old, Stormy Wapass-Semaganis from Edmonton is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder and 41 year old Melissa Semaganis from Poundmaker Cree Nation is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

Partridge, Blackbird and Semaganis have already made their first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court and are scheduled to return to court on April 27th.

Stormy Wapass-Semaganis is expected to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on April 28th.
