Lloydminster RCMP says helicopters around are part of planned operation, no active threat to public

The Lloydminster RCMP has provided an explanation for residents who’ve seen their helicopters flying around.

Sergeant Brad Mouland says the helicopters are part of an ongoing police operation being conducted in and around the City of Lloydminster.

Over the next week, residents will see more officers around, and also the RCMP Air Services helicopter flying as well.

The RCMP says there is no active or specific threats to the public as part of this operation. They add that they will be reporting more information on this initiative at a later date.
