Select Lloydminster, North Battleford pharmacies now a part of COVID-19 vaccine rollout

Pharmacies around Lloydminster and North Battleford are joining the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

The project has been expanded, with 102 pharmacies in 37 Saskatchewan communities now taking part. Of that, eight local pharmacies will be giving out doses, on a supply basis.

The province stresses that the vaccine availability in these spaces is limited at the moment, so residents should watch for local notifications or communication from the pharmacies for when a dose might be available for them there.

These pharmacies will also be determining the priority list of vaccines, while still following age-based sequencing.

The Lloydminster pharmacies include:

  • Co-op Market Place Pharmacy
  • Lloyd Drug Mart
  • Loblaws Pharmacy Lloydminster
  • Safeway Pharmacy Lloydminster
  • Both Shoppers Drug Marts in Lloydminster
  • Sunrise Pharmacy
  • Wal-Mart Pharmacy Lloydminster

The number of pharmacies participating will increase as vaccine supply does. Residents are asked not to call the Saskatchewan vaccination line or try to book a pharmacy appointment online, as they won’t be able to set up an appointment that way.

Looking to North Battleford, those pharmacies include:

  • Battlefords Prescription Centre
  • Discovery Co-operative Ltd
  • Shoppers Drug Mart- North Battleford
  • Pharmasave North Battleford

The Maidstone Pharmacy is also included in this project. Staff working in pharmacies and stores housing pharmacies that are participating in vaccinations are eligible for priority vaccination as well.
