Lloydminster RCMP arrest three people with a large quantity of drugs

The Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and Crime Reduction Unit has taken three individuals into custody on alleged drug trafficking charges.

On April 29th, Members stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a local hotel in the 5400 block of 44 Street, determining the driver had a suspended license.

During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found a large amount of drugs. In total, over 400 grams of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were seized, with a street value of about $50,000.

26-year-old Kellie Moccasin and 41-year-old Leroy Moccasin Jr. of Saulteaux First Nation have been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

33-year-old Robin Moccasin of North Battleford also has been charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, identity fraud and 3 counts of failure to comply with a release order condition.

Robin Moccasin was under conditions at the time, resulting from a large scale drug trafficking investigation in North Battleford on March 19, 2021.

All three accused were released by a Justice of the Peace, and will be in Alberta’s Lloydminster Provincial Court on May 25, 2021.
