SIGA Casinos, including Gold Horse, to re-open on June 20th

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority is set to re-open all of its casinos across the province on June 20th, the first day they are allowed to under the Saskatchewan Re-Opening Roadmap.

On that day, SIGA’s seven casinos will welcome workers and players alike back, starting at 10 AM. The exception is Lloydminster’s Gold Horse Casino, which will open an hour later at 11 AM.

To start, the casinos will have a 150 person capacity to maintain distancing. They’ll be offering only select games and food services for the time being, opening up more as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted further by the province.

Zane Hansen, SIGA President and CEO, says they’re excited to welcome everyone back, as they’ve put in some hard work to make an enjoyable time while balancing the safety of guests, workers and the community.

On that note, there will be enhanced sanitation, as well as contact tracing measures put in place. Guests will be required to check in before entering the casino and undergo a small health screen process.

Tracing details will be collected with a guest’s Players Club card or by simply providing a name and contact number. All details about this are on the SIGA website, they note.

SIGA adds they will adapt and refine the plan continuously, based on the advice of medical professionals and the province.

Update: the article had a typo that said “150 percent” instead of “150 person.” It’s been corrected, and we apologize for the error.
