Saskatchewan second vaccine eligibility opens to the 55+ age range

More people will be able to get their 2nd COVID-19 vaccine as of Thursday morning, including in Lloydminster.

At 8 AM on June 10th, 2nd doses in Saskatchewan will be open to everyone over 55. Everyone who got vaccinated before April 7th will also be able to get the new shot as well.

As always, people getting their second shot will be required to know when they got their first. This is on the card they received when they got their first.

If someone has lost their card, they can find their date again in Immunization History on their MySaskHealthRecord account or by calling 1-833-SASK-VAX.

The province also continued their call for all people over 12 to get a first vaccine. They say the province is close to meeting the Phase Three threshold, which would see most if not all COVID-19 restrictions be lifted.

As of their Wednesday report, the Saskatchewan Health Authority says 68 per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while 65 per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
