SIP moves to 18 St and 52 Ave next Monday

The Street Improvement Program rolls into the 18 Street-52 Avenue intersection from next Monday June 28.

The intersection will be closed until July 15 as ASL Paving crews begin road works and will hope to beat the weather. They are tasked with replacing sections of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, patching failed areas of road and complete asphalt resurfacing.

About 1.2 million dollars is being paid to ASL Paving under the SIP 2021 for road improvements as detailed at Council meeting April 12.

The City says that detour routes and road closure signs will be set up. Construction notices have been distributed to all those who will be directly affected by the work.

Officials also remind drivers to allow extra time for travel, slow down when driving in construction zones, and obey all signage.

Roads and traffic updates are available on the City’s website.
