Pfizer vaccine delay causes SHA to switch to Moderna at some clinics

A delay in the shipment of Pfizer vaccines expected to arrive this week is prompting a switch at some immunization clinics.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is advising that some immunization clinics this week will be offering the Moderna vaccine instead of Pfizer starting on Wednesday, June 23.

Residents with booked appointments who are affected by this delay will be contacted to inform them of the change in vaccine brand. Appointment times and locations remain unchanged.

Youth, aged 12 – 17, can only receive the Pfizer vaccine. Any young people affected by the delay will be contacted directly to discuss arrangements for immunization.

More details can be found on the Saskatchewan Health Authority website.
