Spike in cases of influenza during February

February has brought a spike in influenza cases.

Province wide Alberta Health Services has confirmed 363 more cases by mid-month. In the Central Zone, which includes Lloydminster and area, a total of 235 cases of both Influenza A & B have been confirmed.

25 people in the Central zone have been hospitalized for influenza, none of those cases resulting in death, but there have been 10 deaths resulting from influenza province wide, from the Edmonton and Calgary zones.
