City details Canada Day hours for their facilities

The City has put out the list of hours for their various facilities, as Canada Day falls on a Thursday this year.

In many facilities, they will be closed for Thursday, July 1st before re-opening on July 2nd. These include City Hall, the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment, The Bylaw Office and the Lloydminster Landfill.

If someone needs to get ahold of the RCMP or Bylaw they can still call 780-808-8400 or 780-874-3710 for general concerns. In an emergency, people can still call 9-1-1.

Garbage collection will go ahead as normal on Thursday.

Hours for recreational facilities across the city

Recreation facilities will largely be on the same hours for Canada Day.

The indoor pool at the Bioclean Aquatic Centre will be open from 12-4:30 PM, after which the outdoor pool will be open from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

In both cases, times will need to be booked for both single swims or family swims, and booking times can be found on their respective web pages. Registration will open 24 hours in advance. The Spray Park is open from 10 to 8, and no registration is needed.

The Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre is open from 6 AM to dusk, with the driving range open from 6 AM to 7 PM. The Servus Sports Centre will be open from 9 to 5, but childminding is unavailable.

Weaver Heritage Park is open from July 1st to July 3rd, from 10:30 AM to 6 PM, but the City says outdoor buildings are not accessible to visitors with limited mobility, and other buildings remain closed.

The City will also be holding some Canada Day festivities. People can find details about that, as well as registrations for all of these facilities, on the City’s website.
