City looking for community feedback as they develop 2022 Budget

The City is once again going virtual as they gather residents’ thoughts and wants for the 2022 Municipal Budget.

Both citizens and property-owners alike will have the ability to provide feedback on municipal spending priorities through an interactive, virtual budget engagement process.

The survey will be broken down into seven different items: government services, protective services, transportation services, social programs and services, recreation and cultural services, economic development, and environmental services.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers says that the information people provide will be critical to balance competing priorities, providing quality municipal services and keeping taxes affordable.

Other interactive elements include a property assessment value calculator, to see how increasing or decreasing service levels could affect a resident’s potential 2022 municipal taxation rates.

Residents can also draft a budget concept of their own and compare against anonymous submissions and connect on ideas with others through the feedback left on responses.

The survey will be open until September 6th on the YourVoiceLloyd webpage. Although in-person sessions won’t be held, people can also get a physical copy of the survey at City Hall by calling 780-875-6184, Ext. 2710.
