There were positive gains for employment in both regions housing the City of Lloydminster, according to the latest Statistics Canada jobs report.
Unemployment in the Camrose-Drumheller region had a slight drop from 6.9 per cent in May to 6.5 per cent in June. Looking at the Saskatchewan side, the Prince Albert-Northern region unemployment came down almost an entire percentage point, from 6.5 per cent in May to 5.6 per cent in June.
Provincially, the Camrose-Drumheller region had the second-lowest unemployment rate overall, as did Prince Albert-Northern.
Alberta’s overall unemployment came down to 9 percent even in June from 9.3 in May, while Saskatchewan’s also dropped from 7.3 per cent to 6.6 per cent.
