2 youths from Maidstone facing 20 charges

Two Maidstone boys have been charged following an investigation that took place over the last two weeks.

Maidstone RCMP received a complaint of forcible confinement and assault involving 2 male youth victims, occurring in Maidstone. As per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, they will not be named.

A 13-year-old male from Maidstone is charged with:

  • 2 counts, unlawful confinement, section 279(2) CC
  • 2 counts, assault with weapon, section 267(a) CC
  • 2 counts, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, section 85(1)(a) CC
  • 2 counts, possession a weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88 of the CC

A 16-year-old from Maidstone is charged with:

  • 2 counts, unlawful confinement, section 279(2) CC
  • 2 counts, assault with weapon, section 267(a) CC
  • 2 counts, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, section 85(1)(a) CC
  • 2 counts, possession a weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88 of the CC
  • 2 counts, uttering threats, 264 CC
  • 2 counts, pointing a firearm, section 87 of the Criminal Code

Both youth have been released on conditions and will appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
