Online employment scam masquerades as WPD Ambulance jobs

Beware submitting that online job application for WPD Ambulance drivers as the company says that’s not its official page.

In a release, WPD Ambulance says scammers are using their company information to advertise employment opportunities and if job seekers use that link, then their personal information could be compromised.

They point out that Edmonton Police say scammers are using technology to create fake company websites and clone real ones. Edmonton Police detail a number of scenarios in their release and admonish residents not to submit personal information like Social Insurance Numbers and banking details unless there is certainty that the company actually exists.

Also, Lloydminster Police have about 80 fraud files since the beginning of the year with various circumstances and complexity. Lloydminster RCMP outline several recommendations including to redflag requests for cryptocurrencies and gift cards, as well as demands for immediate payments and money transfers.

WPD Ambulance encourages job seekers that they are continuously looking for new talent and to access their website, wpdambulance.com and visit the careers section.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
