Lloydminster Motor Club hosting Summer Sendoff charity car show Sunday

The Lloydminster Motor Club is hosting their annual Summer Sendoff car show on September 26th,  in support of a local family getting back on their feet after a fire at their home.

The yearly car show, along with other LMC events, works in support of local causes or people in need. This year, they are going to raise money for Marcel Impey and his family, who lost their home and one of their pets to a fire. The money will help Impey and his family get the things they need to build a home again.

Head Honcho of the LMC Randy Marsh says while they love being able to have a show again, it’s their crew’s Lloydminster spirit that inspired the event.

“It’s what the Motor Club is about. We’ve commonly said we’re not a car club, we’re a community club with a car addiction, and it is nice to give back to the people in the City of Lloydminster.”

On top of helping Impey’s family, the Snowflake Respite House will be serving food and treats by donation, and the vendors’ fees will go towards the Lloydminster Kinsmen Club.

The September 26th Summer Sendoff will feature car buffs from around Lloydminster showing off their rides, ranging from sports cars to motorcycles to miniature NASCAR karts, among others. There will also be prize giveaways, a silent auction and a raffle as well for the kids.

Marsh explains that they’ll be something for everyone there, and encourages people to come enjoy the day.

“There’s going to be a wide variety of vehicles to come to check out, and it’s for all enthusiasts no matter what part of the automotive industry that you’re a fan of, whether its sound, looks, beaters, 4-bys, we’ve got it all.”

The Summer Sendoff will be held in lots from the Kinsmen Hall to DGTek and runs from 1-6.
