Lakeland College opens pre-employment automotive program next Fall

Lakeland College is now taking applications for the pre-employment automotive service technician program which is to begin next Fall.

Dean of Trades and technology Dave King says as they position their programs to the evolving needs of industry, the new training will cater to students who want more experience before signing on for an apprenticeship.

With 12 weeks in the classroom and four weeks practicum, students can apply even without a job in the field and be exposed to the same training as a first year apprentice.

The training covers basic maintenance, brake and electrical systems, steering and suspension and includes safety courses like Standard First Aid and CPR.

More information can be found on the Lakeland College website.
