LloydMall targets October 18 phased reopening

The LloydMall is aiming for a phased October 18th re-opening, health protocols permitting following the August water main burst which halted operations at the local shopping centre.

Marketing Coordinator Shannon MacEwen says the repair work has progressed well and they look forward to welcoming back the community.

“So LloydMall will be reopened with phased openings for our retailers. Not all retailers will be open on October 18th. We recommend that you check our website and social pages prior to your visit, to see who is open.”

The stores already open include Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, Safeway, Hair Den, by appointment only and  Richardson’s Jewellery, curbside only.

Some retailers have been operating off-site and these include:

Lloyd Mall Eye Care- 5004- 18th Street (the old Iris location)

Warehouse One & Bootlegger- 7409 44 Street

Suzanne’s & Jenny’s & Ricki’s-#101, 7703 44 Street

Below The Belt-#7, 5405 44 Street.

MacEwen added that some retailers are hiring staff and these include Below the Belt, and Claire’s. She is encouraging the community to show its support as the mall has had a chance to refresh its indoor appeal.

“Together we can really support our LloydMall retail businesses to continue to be viable and successful. We encourage the community to shop locally as you are investing back into the community  .”

For Halloween the mall is partnering with Noyce Photography for Halloween pictures, and as well they will have an online best costume contest to be judged by the community.

Phase two is aimed for mid-November, with MacEwen hopeful that the majority of retailers will be back at the LloydMall by that time.

She says they are planning some great promotions for November as they support local businesses to get up to speed ahead of the holidays.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
