Lakeland College welcomes Adam Waterman to chair Board of Governors

Lakeland College is introducing Adam Waterman as Chair of its Board of Governors.

Dr. Alice Wainwright-Stewart, president and CEO of Lakeland College expressed her pleasure to have Waterman at the helm and noted that the College stands to benefit from his expertise.

“I am honoured to welcome him to this new position and look forward to work with him as we navigate the college through these challenging times.”

Waterman indicated he is thrilled to accept this new challenge.

““Being from Lloydminster, I fully appreciate the significant role Lakeland plays, both in terms of economic benefits and as a part of our community.”

Waterman has 15 years in the energy sector and is the current president of the Lloydminster Oilfield Technical Society and serves on other boards. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master of business administration. He is currently enrolled in the master of science in finance program at Georgetown University and the CFA Institute’s chartered financial analyst program.

Other current board members are Jo-Ann Hall, vice chair, and public members Brent Fischer, Dianne Harder, Jessica Kelly, Doreen McCaw and Lloyd Snelgrove. Chris Thompson is the academic staff member, Greg Barr is the non-academic staff member, and Amelia Magee and Mary Janice Novick are the student members. Dr. Wainwright-Stewart is an ex-officio member.

Former board chair Scott Webb who served for the past three years, announced his retirement earlier this year.
