Sturgeon County man held in Lloydminster, illicit drugs seized

Police have arrested a Sturgeon County man and seized suspected illicit drugs after they were called to a report of a suspicious person on October 20th at about 1:30 a.m.

Lloydminster RCMP say they were called to the scene near the area of 71st Avenue and 41st Street.

Upon arrival, officers saw a vehicle leaving the area and they stopped it. Their investigation revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Police searched the vehicle and found over 110 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as smaller amounts of suspected psilocybin (mushrooms), heroin, cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy).

They arrested and charged 25-year old Christopher Bouchie, of Sturgeon County, Alberta.

Bouchie is facing charges for the alleged possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The suspect was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court on December 7th, 2021.
