In-person visits resume at Lloydminster library January 5th

The Lloydminster Public Library operations for this week run Monday until Christmas eve, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., ahead of what the City calls a soft opening to patrons Wednesday January 5th, 2022.

They will be closed over Christmas, opening December 28th to the 30th, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Re-opening January 3rd-4th, before in-person operations at the new location in the LloydMall.

Michele Duczek, Interim Library Director says they are looking forward to seeing everyone.

“The Lloydminster Public Library staff is ecstatic to open the doors to the public in early January 2022. After months of hard work and dedication from our team, the City of Lloydminster and other local partners, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back and share the in-person experience of a new, modern library.”

Over the holiday season, patrons are encouraged to use the digital Hoopla and Overdrive libraries. Products available include ebooks, audiobooks, digital magazines, newspapers and online language learning.

Anyone with signed-out, physical reading or other library materials is asked to keep them until the Library can accept returns. Return dates are extended until January 15, 2022.

The Library is now closed at the Atrium Centre downtown.

Phone support is available Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Those requiring assistance may call 780-875-0850. Alternatively, patrons can email: [email protected].

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
