Unknown suspects steal truck and trailer, cause damage to road and stolen property

A break, enter, and theft has occurred in the Rural Municipality of Paynton.

On Friday March 11th, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., unknown suspects broke into a shop and stole a 2016 White Dodge Ram and an Acer laptop computer. The suspects also broke into a Sea-Can container outside the shop.

The suspects then went to another shop, just down the road in Paynton, and stole a flat-deck trailer. When the suspects tried to flee the area quickly, they apparently failed to fully crank the trailer jack, causing them to gouge out portions of roadway, resulting in damage to the roads.

Suspects got to the east end of the town where they lost control of the vehicle and the trailer. The stolen White Dodge Ram was found in the ditch just outside Paynton, and the trailer was damaged and left behind, dangerously, in the middle of the east-access road to town and Highway 16.

If you have information regarding this or any other crime, contact Maidstone RCMP at 306-893-4800 or Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), if you wish to remain anonymous in your reporting.
