Return date for Rogers Hometown Hockey March 19-21

“We will have the pleasure of welcoming Tara Slone and Ron MacLean back to our City and they will be broadcasting live, a game between two of the original six.”

Mayor Gerald Aalbers is thrilled as Rogers Hometown Hockey will be making a return to Lloydminster March 19th – 21st, with a match up between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins Monday March 21st from 5 p.m.

Aalbers says the Border City visit will be the first stop on the western Canada tour.

“This had been something in the works for sometime but with COVID, they had put it on pause, and now that the restrictions have been lifted, we will be the first city of four cities in western Canada which Rogers Hometown Hockey will be visiting.”

Aalbers notes that the free, family-friendly celebration of Canada’s game will be on the City’s south side.

“This time it will be held at the Servus Sports Centre. It will be COVID-friendly, hockey related activities. It will be a free weekend and we will see NHL alumni appearances, music and there will be a lot of fun for the whole family.”

Each day of the weekend activities will run from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. On March 21st the action skates off from 4-8 p.m.
