Edmonton suspects charged with fraud in Maidstone

Maidstone RCMP have charged two men from Edmonton following a report of suspected fraudulent activity at a local business.

On February 22nd at about 10:00 p.m., RCMP stopped the duo as they were driving on Highway 16 east of Maidstone.

Officers say a search warrant on the vehicle was executed and they confiscated information related to multiple false identities, says Sgt. Jolyne Harrison, Maidstone Detachment Commander.

“Everything from forged Social Insurance Numbers, health care cards, driver’s licences, credit cards, SIM cards, phones and a quantity of cash were located and seized from the vehicle.”

Prabhjot Singh (DOB 1999/08/23) and Daman Singh Bajwa (DOB 1997/07/31) from Edmonton were arrested and charged with the following offences:

  1. Counterfeiting Mark
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  3. Fraud over $5000.00
  4. Possession of Identity Documents.

Maidstone RCMP have released Singh and Bajwa.  They are to make their first court appearance March 22nd in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.
