Local mosque invites community for Sunday meal during April

The Baitul Amaan Mosque in Lloydminster invites the community to join them for the Sunday evening meal during April as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan started for Muslims on Sunday April 3rd. The month is a period of fasting and reflection as they believe important parts of the Quran, their holy scripture was revealed to the prophet Muhammad.

The local mosque located at 4530, 50 Street will have the Iftar or the meal after the sunset every Sunday during the month of Ramadan after the sunset Maghrib or evening prayer.

With the easing of restrictions, they are once again inviting the community to join them on Sunday evenings April 10th, 17th and April 24th.

Muslims will take the time to deepen their faith and fasting helps them as they prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr at the end of the month of Ramadan.

The Sunday evening prayer begins at 7 p.m. with the meal to follow after 8 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling the Baitul Amaan Mosque at 306-825-3002.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
