Manslaughter charge laid in death of Lloydminster man

A man from Onion Lake has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a Lloydminster man earlier last month. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit says it first heard about a fight in the downtown core just before 7 p.m. on March 30th.

It’s reported that when officers arrived they found the 50-year-old Lloydminster resident with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by EMS but succumbed to his injuries on April 2nd.

Mounties have arrested and charged 24-year-old Warren Ray Lewis of Onion Lake with manslaughter. He remains in custody with a next court appearance set for April 21st in Lloydminster.

Police say no further details will be released at this time.
