Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game returns, Lloyd players make the cut

For the first time in two years, Football Alberta will be bringing back the Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game, with two Lloydminster players making the cut.

The league held tryouts for the North All-Star team recently. In total, 120 players tried out at Foote Field in Edmonton for the North Alberta All-Stars. Of those, the team was whittled down to 40.

From that, two defensive players from Lloydminster will join them. Larrin Thiessen of Holy Rosary High School will play on defensive back. Chaz Walker, also representing Holy Rosary High School, will be on the defensive line.

The league’s next step will be to select players for the South Alberta All-Stars. Tryouts for that will be held of April 22-24 at Shouldice Park in Calgary.

Once all players are selected, the game itself will be held at noon on Monday, May 23rd at MEGlobal Stadium in Lacombe.
