Railway crossing at 49th Ave closing for repairs

Over this weekend from Saturday until Monday, the railway crossing at 49th Avenue will be closed for maintenance.

The city advises the section between 51 Street and 52 Street will close from 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th until 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27th for the CN Railway operations, weather permitting.

Canadian National will perform a complete removal of the crossing surface, rails, ties and track ballast down to subgrade. The crossing will then be rebuilt with new material.

Motorists are advised to follow the marked detour signage and to drive courteously when driving around or through work zones.

Details on road and traffic updates can be found on the city’s webpage.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
