Man charged after vehicle search reveals drugs and firearms

Charges have been laid resulting from a seizure of drugs and firearms on Cold Lake First Nations.

Cold Lake RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Highway 28 on early Sunday morning. The driver was arrested with the seizure of cannabis marijuana and a small amount of cocaine. Police also confiscated a loaded handgun, shotgun, ammunition, and a significant amount of Canadian currency.

25-year-old Lyndon McLeod of Edmonton, faces charges of two counts of possessing a firearm in a careless manner, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possessing a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of Cannabis Marijuana, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

McLeod has been remanded and is scheduled to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court Wednesday, April 13th at 10:00 a.m.
