Equipment failure explains Sunday’s power loss: ATCO

ATCO says Sunday’s loss of power experienced by customers in Lloydminster and area lasted some four hours and was a result of equipment failure.

Customers say around 6 a.m. on Sunday July 10th they were without power and it lasted until about after 10 a.m.

The ATCO website indicates a planned outage for Wednesday July 13th for some areas south of Lloydminster near TWP 492 and west of HWY 17 affecting about 10 customers. That outage should go from about 1-4 p.m.

Another planned power loss is slated for Thursday July 14th, this time affecting about 36 customers around 49th Avenue between 52nd and 48th Streets. That is listed to last from 7 a.m. to noon.

Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
