Lakeland College says its sold out Feast on the Farm presented by Cenovus feted some 300 guests to support student-led projects.
Organizers say the goal was to raise fifty thousand dollars and they surpassed the target as the community generosity enabled a tally of seventy thousand dollars from the Aug. 18 event.
“It was a perfect evening,” says Dr. Alice Wainwright-Stewart, president and CEO of Lakeland College. “Seeing our partners in our communities come together to celebrate in person, for the first time since 2019, was such a thrill.”
Funds from previous editions of Feast on the Farm have helped support the Human
Services Club’s natural playscape project, the interior design technology students’ cutting room redesign, safety equipment for the Emergency Training Centre, and the design and replacement of the crop technology students’ grain shed, among others.
Event planners and officials are commending the overall corporate and community support in the feast’s success.
