Bobcats fans filling fan buses for away games

Lloydminster residents won’t have to miss out on the Bobcats’ away games this weekend.

The Lloydminster Bobcats are making an impressive playoff run. Their third round playoff should prove to be a difficult match up, taking on the regular season champs, the Spruce Grove Saints, for the AJHL North Division title.

Since the first two games of the series are in Spruce Grove on Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd, Bobcats Office Administrator, Kandace Letkeman is organizing fan bus trips to the games. She says you can expect to be in the company of die-hard Bobcats fans.

“It’s very strong fans of ours, I would say. They are amazing people to be around. So if you want a fun crowd to go sit with, all hang out in a big group… I know a lot of people are driving up as well that’ll meet us there. If you just want a fun time, cheer on the Bobcats, be loud, be proud, now’s the time to do it,” says Letkeman.

The tickets for the bus trips are $40.00 each, to cover the cost of the bus as well as admission into the game. The bus leaves the Centennial Civic Centre each day at 3:30 p.m. Letkeman also says that the driver with Columbine Coach Lines, Milt, is being exceptionally accommodating for fans. He has offered to pick up fans living in towns just outside Lloydminster such as Kitscoty, Vermilion, and Mannville.

“[The bus] gets you there and back and it gets you in the game… it might turn into a party bus if we win. I should say when we win,” says Letkeman with a chuckle. “We’re in round three against a super tough team and we know we’ve beat them before, but you never know what happens… and this is franchise history! So if you want to be a part of it, don’t want to miss it anymore, come join us.

To book a seat on the bus, contact Kandace at the Bobcats main office at 780-871-0900.
