The William J. Cadzow Lac La Biche Health Care Centre is receiving a boost from the Alberta government.
On Wednesday, March 30th, the Deputy Premier of Alberta and Health Minister, Sarah Hoffman, delivered good news to dialysis patients in the Lac La Biche area, regarding a new capital project to enhance health services.
“On behalf of our Premier, the Honourable Rachel Notley, and all of my government colleagues, I have some very good news to share with you today,” said Hoffman. “I am pleased to announce that our government is investing up to $3 million to build a permanent dialysis unit here, at the William J. Cadzow Health Care Centre.”
A 6-station dialysis unit will be created and increase patient capacity to 12, up from 10 currently accommodated by the dialysis bus. Design will start this spring and the unit is expected to take in patients as early as 2018.
