City partners with Servus to offer family free skate

The City of Lloydminster is partnering with Servus Credit Union to launch Servus Family Free Skate.

The partnership will work to provide free public skating on Lloydminster’s indoor ice surfaces. Servus Credit Union is sponsoring this program as part of their Community Access initiative that makes it easier for Albertans to enjoy some of the best attractions and activities the province has to offer.

“The Servus Family Free Skate program will enhance access to public ice surfaces and provide another budget-friendly recreational option for local families,” says Mayor Rob Saunders. “We’d like to thank Servus Credit Union for their continued support of sport, health and wellness in our community.”

Servus has similar partnerships with the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, the Alberta Art Gallery, and the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat, among others.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the City of Lloydminster on this initiative… Hockey is a huge part of this community so we’re excited to be part of making this opportunity available to local youth and families, and we’re looking forward to seeing them have some fun on Lloydminster’s excellent indoor ice facilities,” says Garth Warner, Servus President and Chief Executive Officer.

The public is invited to attend a launch event at the Servus Sports Centre Rusway Arena, on Saturday, April 9th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, which will feature free public skating, giveaways from Servus Credit Union, hot chocolate and more
