Armed robbery at Anna’s Restaurant in Wainwright

Wainwright RCMP are investigating an armed robbery.

In the afternoon on Monday, April 4th, just before 3 o’clock, Police responded to a call for service regarding a robbery at G&B Fuels/Anna’s Restaurant in the Town of Wainwright, wherein one of the suspects was carrying a firearm.

The male suspect was seen wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and sunglasses. He entered the business brandishing a black rifle with a banana clip and pointed the weapon at the store clerk, demanding cash and cigarettes.  The female suspect was wearing a camo jacket and pants, standing guard at the front door during the incident.

Both suspects were then observed getting into an older model, dark green, 2-door car with no license plate and fled the scene. The pair made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
