Maidstone RCMP end dangerous person alert; two men arrested

The Maidstone RCMP have arrested two men and ended a dangerous person alert for this area of the midwest.

The alert was put out this morning in response to reports that people in a black new model Mustang allegedly shot at a home in the RM of Britannia area, one in the Lloydminster area and committed a fuel theft in the RM of Britannia.

The RCMP suggested a shelter-in-place advisory for areas of Britannia and the City of Lloydminster too, as it was believed the suspects had been there as well.

Schools in Lloydminster were also put on a hold and secure until just before noon, when the RCMP advised it was safe to lift it.

On Tuesday afternoon, two men and the car were found on the Onion Lake Cree Nation, and these suspects were arrested. As it is believed there is no longer a danger to the public, the dangerous person advisory is now ended.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with tips regarding this investigation is asked to contact the police or CrimeStoppers.
