Battlefords RCMP make arrest with help of calls from public

Battlefords RCMP have arrested a man on several warrants.
Over the weekend of April 1st, North Battleford RCMP received numerous complaints about an adult male from North Battleford being involved in criminal activity. Following an investigation, the male was identified and it was determined he had existing warrants for his arrest.
On Monday, April 4th,  North Battleford RCMP and the Municipal General Investigation Section located the man and arrested him.  Prior to the arrest the male fled from the members on a bicycle and was apprehended at a traffic intersection after a brief foot pursuit.
The arrest of the individual was captured on a private dash camera and police have obtained the footage for investigative purposes.  In the footage the persons effecting the arrest on the individual on the bicycle are all members of the North Battleford RCMP Municipal Detachment – some are in police uniform and some are wearing plain clothes.
The suspect was not injured during the arrest; however, one officer sustained an injury to his shoulder, was taken to hospital and was released shortly afterwards.  The officer will make a full recovery and is being supported by the RCMP.
The RCMP will not be releasing the man’s name and the footage of the arrest has not been made available to the media.
