Second session added for visiting speaker

A sellout show is prompting organizers to host a second speaking engagement for a visiting psychologist in January.

The Lloydminster Region Health Foundation booked the in-demand speaker for one engagement on Jan. 21, next year and all tickets have been snapped up for the early installment of “Renew – Dr. Jody Carrington; Honest and Uncut.” The second opportunity will run at 7 p.m. that same day at the Gold Horse Casino.

CEO of the LRHF Stephanie Munroe explains the need for a renewal.

“Oftentimes in January after the Christmas holidays, people can feel a little bit sluggish getting back into routine, getting back into school, and we just thought, this year let it not be about making those new year resolutions, let’s make it about renewing our own selves. So she is just going to come and speak and I hope that the attendees leave a little bit more inspired than they were when they first came.”

Munroe says over 300-tickets have been sold for the first dose of inspiration from the motivational speaker and the demand indicates there is a need for more.

“Just that in itself, shows how much of a following she does have. So we are very excited to be bringing her; honoured actually. Our organization exists to enhance, innovate and raise funds for health care. Really, a person’s mental health is just as important. So this is a service that we are trying to be able to provide to our community at a very reasonable cost.”

Carrington who is a published author has a new book dropping in January titled “Reconnecting in a Disconnected World,” which Munroe says “they’re very excited” for as well.

Tickets can be found using the link on the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation website.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
