More educational assistants for Lloydminster students

Some more educational assistants will be on staff to help students at Lloydminster schools.

The Saskatchewan government’s contribution is $80,152 to the Lloydminster Public School Division and $60,715 to the Lloydminster Catholic School Division. As well, the Northwest School Division which covers schools just east of Lloydminster received $174,261 in funding from the education ministry.

In an email to MyLloydminsterNow, LPSD officials say at least two more staff can be hired with the funding.

According to the education ministry, overall about 200 of these positions are supported from the $7 million in funding for school divisions to increase the number of educational assistants for this school year. The hiring of educational assistants is ongoing throughout the school year based on student needs.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
