Alberta Clipper weather advisory issued for Lloydminster, Wainwright, Vermilion, and Provost areas

More wild weather is on the way for the Midwest region, as Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about an Alberta Clipper moving into this area.

The advisory, which is in effect for the entire Lloydminster, Wainwright, Vermilion and Provost area, indicates that the Alberta Clipper is expected to bringing a mix of precipitation beginning Friday night and lasting all of Saturday.

It’s anticipated that general snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm will hit the area by Saturday evening, but those could exceed 10 cm near the Saskatchewan border. Strong winds will also accompany the system causing low visibility and making travel hazardous.

It’s expected the storm should ease up into Saturday night.
