Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Lloydminster, Wainwright, Vermilion, Provost and surrounding communities.
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
Heavy snowfall and strong winds will combine to create poor visibility in blowing snow late this afternoon and tonight.
Snowfall amounts totalling 10 to 20 cm are expected beginning this afternoon.
This evening, strong northwest winds will develop causing blowing snow and plunging temperatures.
Conditions will improve as snowfall eases on Monday morning, but some local blowing snow may still be possible until winds ease on Monday afternoon.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
