Rowswell among MLAs to talk provincial priorities in Oregon

U.S. lawmakers will get a sense of Alberta priorities as three MLAs including Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright’s Garth Rowswell head to Portland, Oregon.

The local MLA along with Livingstone-Macleod’s Roger Reid and MLA for Calgary-Fish Creek Richard Gotfried will be at the PNWER economic leadership forum from Dec. 3-7.

The Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) is a regional multilateral forum that brings together legislative, government and private sector leaders from Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska to advance policies that promote the region’s economies.

“The opportunity to meet with other legislators is critical to strengthening our relationships with them. Alberta’s economy is strong and I am looking forward to sharing the positives from our province and learning more about what is working well in other jurisdictions,” says Rowswell.

Alberta is a founding member of PNWER.

While Rowswell returns to the province on Dec. 7, MLA Gotfried will stay an extra day for a business outreach, according to the statement from the premier’s office.
