It’s not too late for Operation Christmas Child donations

Residents can still pitch in for Operation Christmas Child via the online option, according to organizers with Samaritan’s Purse Canada.

Lloydminster residents Ruby and Laurin Trudel spent five days in Calgary helping out with the operation to get the boxes ready to be shipped to places in Central America, West Africa, the Philippines and Ukraine.

“This is such a joyful place,” said Ruby Trudel.

The packed boxes of needed supplies and Christmas cheer will go to kids who, in many cases, have never received a gift in their lives.

“We’ve traveled in the developing world and we’ve seen children who have nothing,” she continued, explaining the couple’s continuing participation in Operation Christmas Child over the last seven-years.

Lloydminster residents can assist Operation Christmas Child online at www.PackaBox.ca.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
