Cenovus Energy aims to raise capacity at the Lloydminster refinery by eight per cent for an output increase of some 31,500 barrels-per-day. This as it invests optimization dollars to remove bottlenecks in the production output at the Border City plant.
The energy firm has some $4 to 4.5 billion earmarked for thermal optimization efforts in Lloydminster and Foster Creek.
Its budget numbers reveal that production guidance for Lloydminster thermal projects is between 105,000 to 115,000 barrels-per-day.
Cenovus is investing between $1.2 to 1.7 billion in optimization and growth capital as it works to integrate the Lloydminster operation with its other assets including Foster Creek.
