RCMP charge Brick employee over alleged theft

An employee of the Brick furniture store has been charged following an Aug. 10th report to Wainwright RCMP of missing money from the Brick Warehouse business account.

Police say they were called to investigate multiple fraudulent transactions between Aug. 2020 and Aug. 2022.

On Dec. 4, 2022, Joanna Rae, 37-years, a resident of Wainwright, was arrested and subsequently charged with the following offences:

  • Theft over $5000.00
  • Forgery, Use/Traffic money over $5000.00
  • Fraud over $5000.00
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
  • Trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000.00

Rae was held for a judicial interim hearing and was released from custody on a $1000 no cash release order. The suspect is to return to Wainwright Provincial Court on Jan. 19, 2023.
