Stolen truck chase leads to illicit drug seizure

Police had to deploy the spike belt as they sought to stop a suspected stolen vehicle that was spotted in the Onion Lake area, but officers say the vehicle kept going for another 2.5 kms before coming to a standstill.

On Dec. 9th at about 10 a.m., Onion Lake RCMP were called to investigate a report of a stolen truck that was seen driving on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

When officers turned on their lights, they say the vehicle failed to stop. When they deployed the spike belt, even though the tires were flattened, the truck kept on going.

When the truck finally stopped six occupants were taken into custody.
