Lloydminster RCMP have described the period of Jan. 10-13 as a busy week. They say their investigations based on information led efforts targeting street-level criminal activity in Lloydminster.
Police executed 40 warrants, made 13 arrests, laid 6 new charges and recovered three vehicles which were reported as having been stolen.
As a result of the investigation police charged 58-year-old Richard Parkhurst of Lloydminster, SK. with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, possession of stolen property over $5000.00 and possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (Heroin and Fentanyl).
Parkhurst appeared in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court on Jan. 16 and received a sentence of two-years custody.
Police have indicated they will continue these types of policing efforts.
Cpl. K. Rhodenizer of the Lloydminster GIS sees the measures as “an example of effective partnership within policing and another step towards building a safer community.”
The Lloydminster RCMP’s General Investigations Section (GIS), Eastern Alberta District’s Crime Reduction Unit (EAD CRU), Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and Lloydminster RCMP led the crime busting efforts.
